Soft & Spicy Chicken Feet Recipe | MamaDee's Kitchen

Hey fam!

Today we’re making one of those soul-warming dishes: tender chicken feet cooked down in a flavorful, rich gravy. These are full of flavor and perfect for cold days, family gatherings, or whenever you’re craving something nostalgic and comforting.

πŸ›’ Ingredients:

  • 1kg chicken feet, cleaned and nails trimmed

  • ½ cup vinegar

  • Water (enough to soak and cook)

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp turmeric

  • 1 tbsp Robertson’s Chicken Spice

  • 1 tsp Aromat (or to taste)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional – for richness)

  • Quarter teaspoon red pepper flakes

πŸ‘©πŸ½‍🍳 Preparation:

Step 1: Clean the chicken feet
Start by washing your chicken feet thoroughly with ½ cup vinegar and water. You can soak them for about 5 minutes to help remove any unwanted odor and bacteria. Then rinse them clean.

Step 2: Boil and spice it up
Place the cleaned chicken feet in a large pot. Add enough water to fully cover them. Then add your paprika, turmeric, Aromat, Robertson’s Chicken Spice, and olive oil.

Optional: Add sesame oil and a small teaspoon of butter for extra depth and flavor.

Step 3: Let it simmer
Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally. As it simmers, the water will reduce — just keep adding a bit of water at a time to help build that beautiful, saucy gravy.

Cook until the chicken feet are soft and tender, about 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on how meaty they are.

🍽️ Serving suggestion:

Serve hot with uphuthu, rice, or even fresh bread to mop up all that gravy. And of course, enjoy with your favorite drink!
